
Walnut Hill School in Natick, Mass., is a private, school, college preparatory school where students gifted national and international ballet can combine their academic talents with their passion for their art. The school offers programs in dance, music, theater, arts visual, and writing and publishing.
Ballet students receive a solid foundation in the basics, and are exposed to a variety techniques of dance, including tap, jazz, modern and other styles in addition to ballet. New England, offers these students the opportunity to take advantage of some of the best educational and cultural institutions in the world, students have many opportunities to display the styles of many professionals dance that New England has to offer.
Ballet faculty at Walnut Hill dancers are professionals who understand the importance technique, strength training and performance. In addition, faculty members take each dancer individuality into consideration and prepare students life skills and preparing for the dance.
Students study ballet on the beautiful campus of 30 acres and boarding Students live in one of eight residence halls. In addition to numerous state-of-the-art facilities on campus, the dancers can enjoy five major studios, changing rooms, a costume shop, a fitness center on campus, and performance of professional theater.
Notable Alumni Walnut Hill include Melanie Atkins Varga '91 (Boston Ballet), Anthony Pina '05 (Alberta Ballet), Joe Walsh '06 (Houston Ballet), Breanne Starke '04 (Kansas City Ballet), and David Prottes '05 (New York City Ballet). Ballet graduates have continued to join Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet Memphis Joffrey Ballet Ensemble, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Twyla Tharp Dance, and other internationally known.
